Responsibilities: - Supervises the staff within all hospital support departments. - Responsible for timely performance feedback, skill and management development of all Hospital personnel. - Participates in onboarding new hires and all new hire paperwork. - Orients and trains new clinic staff to the hospital and duties. - Reviews work performance of direct reports, constructively delivers feedback, resolves routine personnel issues and conducts timely performance appraisals. - Oversees Employee annual performance evaluation process. - Manages schedules for technical and administrative staff, coordinates DVM and Support schedules with the Medical Director - Achieves and maintains all labor goals. Administrative: - Works with the PetVet Care Centers Support team to ensure compliance with all administrative responsibilities. - Participates in the annual budget creation process. - Ensures daily financial information is accurate and is responsible for all local accounting functions. - We offer a generous compensation package based on experience. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources and serves as an advisor and resource to supervisors in the Western Region of Human Resources Management.   Essential Functions   - Build strong relationships with Hospital Managers and staff - Advises supervisors and administrators in Employee Relations areas of human resources management, including wage and hour laws, disability law, policy and procedures, contract interpretation, organizational development, labor and employment law, sexual harassment and other laws that are applicable. - Conducts or assists management in conducting investigations into employee misconduct. - Determines facts and appropriate corrective action, ensuring that the action taken is consistent, appropriate, and defensible. - Makes recommendations for corrective action and performance improvement plans - Counsels employees and supervisors on a wide range of issues affecting employee performance. - Advises supervisors regarding employee performance improvement plans. - Conducts trainings as needed. - Audits compliance of all areas of Human Resources and works with Hospital Manager to resolve compliance issues or concerns     CORE COMPETENCIES: Collaboration Develops cooperation and teamwork while participating in a group, working toward solutions which generally benefit all involved parties. - Is seen as a team player who encourages efficient and effective collaborations. - Works skillfully in difficult situations. - Represents his/her own interests while being open-minded to others - Builds respectful and productive relationships Getting Results (Action Oriented) Performs work with energy and drive.  Values planning, but will take quick, decisive action when an opportunity presents itself. - Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency about solving problems and getting work done. - Focuses on achieving the goal even in the face of obstacles. - Assumes responsibility for starting and finishing work with minimal supervision. - Strives for new levels of performance. Additional work experience can substitute for the educational requirement on a year-to-year basis. SUBSTITUTE: Master's degree may substitute for two (2) years of the required work experience. YEARS of RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: Seven (7) years of experience in Human Resources CERTIFICATION & LICENSES: Certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) preferred. TRAVEL: 30% overnight travel required.  Most work days employee is traveling from hospital to hospital working with Hospital managers.  The focus is to build strong working relationships with HMs and staff as well as assist in managing employee relations issues as well as maintain compliance.
