    East Orlando Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced, self-motivated and knowledgeable technician to add to our team in Orlando Florida. We are a six doctor AAHA accredited practice, focusing on internal medicine and preventative care. In addition to medical services, we offer boarding, grooming, day care and obedience training for our clients. We place a large focus on client education, so a substantial base of veterinary knowledge is a must!     Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Filing and preparation of charts
    • Answer phones
    • Scheduling of appointments
    • Checking Clients in and out for appointments
    • Building treatments plans in veterinary software
    • Communicating required services
    • Client Education
    • Complying with hospital protocols and procedures
    • Maintain cleanliness of reception areas, hospital grounds, and treatment areas, as needed
    • Communicate patient status with oncoming staff and veterinarians, and update records and financial information, as needed, in the computer
    • Display confidence and reassurance when dealing with pets experiencing severe stress, illness, and/or pain
    • Communicate and approach job duties in a mature manner
    • Foster teamwork approach and work well with all levels of hospital team member
    • Participate in all staff training and mandatory staff meetings
    • Answer phones and perform other reception duties as needed by the hospital
    • Proactive role in developing new skills and furthering knowledge base by attending CE.
    • Demonstrate flexibility to float to other departments in times of need
    • Support the team in welcoming new employees and assist in the training process when needed

    High School diploma or equivalent

    Work Experience

    One or more years’ experience in customer service

    Physical and Other Requirements

    Ability to walk or stand for 10 to 12 hours (or longer shifts, as needed)

    Ability to handle stressful situations

    Ability to complete assigned tasks, even if extended work hours are required in order to do so
