    Green Trails Animal Clinic is looking for an experienced veterinary technician to join our 5 doctor practice.

    We are located in Lisle, IL near Benedictine University. Our hospital offers the most up to date preventative medicines, class IV therapy laser, grooming, boarding, digital x-ray, surgical suite with surgical laser, dental suite and more! Our technicians are an extremely important part of our practice and act as the primary support for our doctors. We expect our technicians to be proficient in obtaining medical histories, providing client education, patient physical restraint, venipuncture and IV catheter placement, perform medical treatments, maintain and utilize laboratory equipment, position and obtain radiographs, assist in surgery, perform dental prophylaxis and more! We strive to practice fear free medicine; this is just as important to us as it is to our clients and our patients.

    Education:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Graduate of an accredited veterinary technology program (not required but preferred)

    Work Experience:

    • Two or more years of experience in veterinary environment

    Physical and Other Requirements:

    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (work requires lifting, carrying and restraining animals)
    • Ability to walk or stand for 8 to 10 hours; frequently working in bent positions
    • Ability to handle stressful situations
    • Demonstrate flexibility with schedule and other departments in times of need

    Hours of operation are Monday - Friday 7:30 am-7:00 pm, Saturday 8:00 am-3:30 pm. We have rotating on-call hours for medical boarding on the weekends (typically 1 per month or less).
